I hope you enjoy this brief look at how the Xaverian Brothers mission is lived throughout the world. I’ve had the privilege this past Summer and Fall to visit our Brothers and missions in Kenya, Congo, and South Sudan. Over Thanksgiving I will be heading to Belgium. I have spent a great deal of time here throughout the U.S. and I can tell you that our Xaverian mission is flourishing right now. As Pope Francis has said, all of us are missionary disciples. Whenever you, our Brothers, Associates, Partners in Mission, demonstrate care and concern, you are missionary disciples in our name. I want to thank you for that.
Jesus gave us a new commandment: ‘As I have loved you, you need to love one another. And by this love you’ll show other people that you are My disciples.’
We have a very strong and rich legacy of service in the Xaverian tradition and at this moment in our history we need to discern how God is calling us anew to love as those missionary disciples. Let us go forward with humility and courage trusting that God will show us the way. My prayer is that each of you will experience God’s abundant mercy in your lives and in the lives of your loved ones.
Thank you!
Brother Daniel Skala, C.F.X.
